Greg and Melinda Meyers were left devastated early Sunday morning when they discovered that the Sugar Spring Ranch had gone down in flames.
Speaking to News 4, the authorities of the Ranch explained that the fire broke out at about 2:30 am early Sunday, with nobody around to call for help.
The Sugar Spring Ranch is a wedding venue in Columbia, Illinois, though the ranch had only opened this January, business seemed to be doing good, as the venue is almost is almost completely booked out for next year.
There was a wedding held there the day before the fire broke out, and they had stayed back till about 1:30am to clean the place.
The fire sprinkler system for the Ranch had not been completely fixed at the time of this incident. However, the Meyers have had an arrangement with the fire chief to hold weddings at the Ranch only when the fire operators will be present at the venue, but it was quite unfortunate that they had long gone before the fire broke out.
Greg and Melinda are set to rebuild the Ranch, although the insurance for the property is not going to be enough for the rebuilding, they, however, are determined to rebuild, especially for the love of all those who share one of the most important days of their lives there.
