A day of joy turned bad for the groom, Mr. Moses Yakub and his bride by some unknown gunmen.
They were kidnapped on Sunday 10th September, 2017 on their way to the venue of their wedding ceremony, along sides five family members and friends in Akunnu Akoko, Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo state.
The groom was said to be travelling with his bride from Okene, Kogi state for the marriage on Sunday morning, before the unknown gunmen attacked and kidnapped them.
Sources reports that the bride and groom were not the only kidnapped victims. Family members that accompanied them along with the best man and chief bridesmaids were also kidnapped by the gunmen.
The kidnappers, at gun point ordered them out of car and they were dragged into the bush.
Ahmed Amodu, which happen to be the father of the bride confirmed the development, saying that the kidnappers abducted the couple but released the bride and her sister few hours after the abduction.
The father of the bride also relates that the groom alongside two males and females were still held by the kidnappers and no contact had been made with them.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Femi Joseph promised the rescue of the abductees as a search had begun for the kidnapped persons.
