Do you want to appreciate your guests for gracing your event? The welcome basket is a great way to greet your wedding guests and appreciate their efforts with nice gestures like, “Thanks for coming”.
If you’re planning on having a welcome bag for the guests, here are mistakes to avoid.
- Offering a Large, Heavy or Fragile Present
These are nice presents but it won’t be a good idea, mostly for the guests who would be travelling through flight or trying to travel light.
Your wedding guests would love to travel home with those nice wine glasses but it can be devastating to leave those nice gifts behind.
Try to avoid presenting fragile materials. Rather, go for miniature versions that can be easy to pack and that consume a short amount of time.
- Not Including a Note
When you send along your present, always include a note for the guests to know how glad you are that they honoured you.
It would be great if you can write them all. You can also plan on signing each copy.
You can also provide directions and transportation options for the guests, local food recommendations and event itinery, mainly if you’re going to have an entire weekend celebration.
- Forgoing Snacks
Avoid forgoing snacks for the wedding guests. Provide local or homemade snacks for them upon arrival or for a late night bite.
Snacks is something that will always be appreciated when offered.
- Providing Zero Hangover Remedies
When you have an open bar filled with drinks, its left to the guests to take full advantage of it or not. This is why you should provide for their needs when the sun comes up and they start to experience hangover.
You can present water bottles, snacks or Advil to provide remedies for the guests’ hangover.
- Not Making a Delivery Plan
After getting the goods ready, the next in line is getting them to the wedding guests.
Think of ways to deliver the goods to them. You can appoint family members to assist you in distributing the bags to the guests’ hotels.
