Tips On How To Save On The Wedding Menu

Wedding planning is a whole deal that requires spending. We all know spending on our wedding will be one of the biggest spending in our lifetime. Planning the wedding menu requires spending on what will satisfy the guests and make your wedding fabulous. You’ve got to spend, mostly when you have larger number of guest count.

The following tips will guide you on how to save on the wedding menu.

1. Use Disposables
You can go for disposables over traditional glassware. This is much cheaper because it per unit lesser than using fine china.

2. Serve The Menu In a Family Style
The buffet style is not just an avenue to save money, and create an intimate atmosphere, getting the guests to mingle.

3. Host a Breakfast or Brunch Reception
Brunch wedding reception is for a small amount of family and friends and acquaintances you’ve not seen in a while and it is budget friendly. The meal served in the brunch wedding is much less expensive that of the expensive wedding.

The guests can enjoy a traditional brunch menu such as omelets and mimosas, juices, coffees, fruit platter, bacon and scrambled eggs, oatmeal, meat platter, and you cut a lot of costs.

4. Plan a Time Falling In-Between Meals
You can plan your event in such a way that the wedding guests will not come in hungry and expecting a full meal.

For instance, if your wedding is planned at 2:00, your guests would probably had have breakfast and will leave the ceremony before dinner.

5. Seek Assistance From Family and Friends
If you have family members and friends with good cooking skills, they could help you prepare the reception menu rather than hiring a caterer.

6. Don’t Serve Out-of-Season Foods
There are several foods that are seasonal. Serving foods that are out of season will be more expensive; due to the transportation cost.

7. Choose a Wedding Venue That Allows For Outside Catering
Choosing a venue that offers such service gives you the best deal, as you save more rather than pay for the services of their caterers.
