The former Olympian got married to sports producer Todd Kapostasy, this weekend in South Carolina. The 35 year old gold medalist and sports producer got married in Charleston South Carolina on Saturday. They got married at Boone Hall Plantation, the same location where Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively secretly married in 2012. The gorgeous manicured garden was an 18th century rice plantation.
Tara and Todd met in may, 2015 when Tara presented an award to Todd at the Sports Emmys. They have been dating for about two years and they got engaged in 2015.
Lipinski had taken to Instagram to announce the news. “My life changed forever last night. I feel so lucky that I get to spend the rest of my life loving my best friend and love of my life. I’ve had many monumental happy days in my life but thus by far is my happiest. I love you”. She had said two eyars ago. Now, the two have finally said their “I dos”.
Tara captioned a moment of her mother’s gift. ‘What a special morning. My mom gave me the most beautiful gift. From the day I was born till the day I got married she wrote in a book about our journey together as mother and daughter. Holy tears!”.
Tara was dressed in a Reem Acra gown with 20 foot long tulle skirt by Laura Basci, paired with Charlotte Olympia pumps. The bridesmaids wore flower crowns made by Tara’s mom. Her fellow figure skater and friend, Jonny Weir was part of her bridal party as a ‘brides man’. The two friends had fun as Johnny Weir twirled Tara Lipinski through her rehearsal celebration.
Tara Lipinski and Todd Kapostasy served Southern-style food such as chicken and waffles as hors d’oeuvres with maple bacon syrup and chocolate milkshakes with Kahlua. Local fish was one of the main courses.
The festivities went on for more than one day. Two days earlier, the guests have arrived for a pre-wedding celebration at Boone Hall.
E News reports that the newlyweds are jetting off to Maldives, Thailand and Vietnam, before finishing up their post- “I do” getaway in Europe, for their honeymoon.
